Lovely take on a shoot 'em up with a charming narrative! As everyone has mentioned your assets are cohesive and look as though they belong in a storybook. I appreciate how your game mechanics correlate directly to the narrative of your character navigating the wild.
Like I had mentioned prior, my only critique would be that in the first level it's difficult to tell which items you should pick up and which you shouldn't due to the assets appearing similar. I think a quick fix would be increasing the contrast on the glow effect so that its a very noticeable "green" for good and "red" for bad.
I love your distinctive art style Chole! Very cute and delicate animation on the character. It is innovative to incorporate a storyline in a dodge-and-catch (I invented this word) style type of game.
It is always better to see more interactions in this style of game. Introducing particles and screen shaking will definitely enhance the interaction feeling, I can't wait to hear your game decorated by sound design.
Lastly, hope you've already fixed, the key binding issue we mentioned in class.
I think the hand-drawn assets are extremely cute as are your backgrounds. The mechanics are easy and simple to understand. I think the difficulty in stage 2 may need some tweaking.
Your game is such a unique take on the Shmup genre. I really love the art style you chose. The hand drawn aesthetics just feels so great. There is a sense of intensity to the game, but that cutesy vibe of the game never disappears from the game. I think it's also pretty cool that, the player needs to change between states to actually collect or perform the appropriate tasks. The theme and the mechanics are great, but one thing that can be improved is perhaps make the toxic wood in the first scene a bit more different compared to the collectable ones.
This was a neat take on the genre. I greatly appreciate the art direction. Everything looks like it was drawn by hand and scanned to the computer. I'm still trying to familiarize myself with digital art, and I'd love to learn more. great job!
I enjoyed this game and especially its art! The concept and character are very cute and add to the experience. I think the short dialogue adds to the narrative and helps the player know their objective. I couldn't get past stage 2, so maybe the difficulty could be adjusted but I think it also allows for a good amount of difficulty for the player to keep playing and beat a past score. The art and UI throughout the game is very cohesive and well done! Overall this game feels well put together and well rounded, I would suggest some edits to the difficulty progression, but everyone's play styles are different so it could just be a personal caveat.

What were your favorite moments of the game?
It was really great to have a little story and narrations in the game and it was very well delivered! The art in the game is so beautiful.
Where do you see room for improvement?
I don't think I heard any sound during the game?
When did you stop playing and why?
I didn’t stop.
Was there anything related to the interface or controls that was hard
to understand?
I thought the interface was really well designed!
Stage 2 was a little difficult for me, it took me a while to get used to it. However, I enjoyed the difficulty of stage 2. It's a personal opinion, but I thought the movement of the main character could be a little faster? because on stage 2, once the eyes and roaring passed me, since they have the same speed as me, there is nothing much I can do.
Was there anything related to the mechanics that was hard to understand?
nope
Was there anything related to the art, or sound that was hard to understand?
Art looks great. Especially the naked character! The color palette is harmonious.
I didn’t hear any sounds.
